Britt Kelly Awarded President's Medal by South Carolina Bar's Young Lawyers Division

6/1/2012

Rosen Hagood is proud to announce the presentation of the South Carolina (S.C.) Bar's Young Lawyers Division (YLD) President's Medal to Britt Kelly. The award recognizes Mr. Kelly's continuous contributions, support, and dedication to the S.C. Bar YLD. He is one of twelve attorneys recognized by Rebecca Roser, President of the S.C. Bar YLD, for going "above and beyond in their dedication and service to the YLD."

Since joining the S.C. Bar in 2005, Mr. Kelly has been active in both professional development and community service projects through the Bar's Young Lawyer Division. He was most recently the committee chair for the Young Lawyer Division's Annual Bar Convention Committee, a role that resulted in an award for the Young Lawyer Division from the American Bar Association. He is currently serving as the Ninth Circuit Representative to the Young Lawyer Division, through which position he has organized events for young lawyers, including judicial lunches and young professional events. Mr. Kelly also understands the importance of giving back to the community; he has helped organize the annual Charleston-area backpack/school supply drive for the past two years, has volunteered for "Ask-a-Lawyer" phone banks, and consistently gives his time to the causes of the Special Olympics of S.C.

Mr. Kelly has been with Rosen Hagood since 2005 and focuses on construction litigation, personal injury cases and commercial and business litigation. He completed his undergraduate education at the University of the South (Sewanee) in 2001, where he was a double major in Political Science and Spanish. In May 2005, he graduated second in his class from the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law at the University of Memphis. This year, he was recognized as one of the 2012 South Carolina Rising Stars List by Super Lawyers.

The Young Lawyers Division is a professional service and community organization of the South Carolina Bar that provides leadership and business development opportunities for young and new lawyers throughout the state.
