Charleston Law Firm, Rosen Hagood, Names New Members

Rosen Hagood is pleased to announce that John Rosen and Rene Stuhr Dukes have been named non-equity members of the firm, effective January 1, 2015.

“We congratulate John and Rene on this significant achievement,” said Brew Hagood, member of the firm’s management committee.  “Both of them have demonstrated a high level of commitment to our clients and to the firm, and we are very proud of their accomplishments.”

Rosen practices primarily in the areas of business/corporate transactions and business and commercial litigation.  His practice includes advising corporate clients in all aspects of their business, from business formations and governance to contract negotiations, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate issues.  Rosen’s litigation experience includes complex business and commercial matters involving partner, shareholder, and related business disputes as well as shareholder dissolution and buyout litigation.

A native of Charleston, Rosen was admitted to practice in the State of South Carolina in 2004 and joined the firm in 2010.

Dukes practices in the areas of family law, employment law, education law, personal injury, and appellate work.  Her practice areas include a wide array of legal issues, including parent and grandparent custody, termination of parental rights, step-parent adoption, workplace discrimination, and traumatic brain injury.  She has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in administrative proceedings, as well as state, federal, and appellate courts.

Also a native of Charleston, Dukes is a graduate of Charleston School of Law and joined the firm in 2009.  She is active in many professional organizations and is co-chair of the Women’s Caucus of the South Carolina Association for Justice. Dukes also participates in the mentorship programs with the South Carolina Bar and the Charleston School of Law.
