James "Chip" Atkinson Bruorton IV

James Atkinson Bruorton IV "Chip" practices in the areas of construction litigation and governmental law. He has been admitted to practice in the state of South Carolina. Chip Bruorton was born in Greenville, SC on May 6, 1978. Mr. Bruorton and his wife, Lindsay, along with their two sons, Carver and Lyles, reside in Mt. Pleasant, SC where they are members of Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church. Mr. Bruorton is a member and former board member of the Mt. Pleasant Exchange Club and a member of the Charleston Chamber of Commerce.

Chip Bruorton practices primarily in the areas of construction litigation, condemnation and administrative and government law. Mr. Bruorton has had experience representing private and public owners, architects, contractors, construction managers, subcontractors, and their insurers or sureties in construction matters. Mr. Bruorton also has experience in representing governmental entities in condemnation actions.

Mr. Bruorton, who had previously clerked with the firm while a law student, joined the firm in August 2003 as an associate. Since joining the firm in 2003, Mr. Bruorton has had the opportunity to handle a variety of legal matters and gain significant experience and knowledge from other members of the firm. Mr. Bruorton became a shareholder with the firm in December 2007.
