H. Brewton Hagood concentrates his practice in construction litigation, mediation and arbitration, condemnation and land use litigation, commercial litigation and insurance litigation. He has been admitted to practice before all South Carolina State Courts, the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Hagood holds the highest professional rating in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory and is a member of the American Bar Association Tort and Insurance Practice Section, the Forum on the Construction Industry and the Law Practice Management Section. Mr. Hagood received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of South Carolina and graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law.

Born in Columbia, South Carolina on October 6, 1953, Mr. Hagood and his wife, Libby, and their two daughters, Miriam and Katherine, reside on Sullivan's Island where they attend Holy Cross Episcopal Church.

Mr. Hagood received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of South Carolina in 1975 and his law degree from the University of South Carolina in 1978. He was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 1978 and has been admitted to practice before all South Carolina State Courts, the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. He has been with the firm since his graduation from law school in 1978 and has had the opportunity to handle a wide variety of legal matters during his legal career.
A member of the Construction Law Section for the South Carolina Bar, Mr. Hagood was elected to serve as its Chairman for the 1999-2000 term. He is also a member of Forum on the Construction Industry, the Tort and Insurance Practice Section and the Law Practice Management Section of the American Bar Association.
