Richard S. Rosen is active in trial and appellate practice in the state and federal courts. His practice focuses primarily on personal injury cases and business litigation.

He has been admitted to practice in the South Carolina Courts, in the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.

He holds the highest professional rating in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory and is listed in the Best Lawyers of America in three categories: Business Litigation, Personal Injury and Medical Malpractice. He was recently named one of the top 25 lawyers in the State of South Carolina in Super Lawyers Magazine. He served as President of the South Carolina Bar from 2002 to 2003. Personal Information

Mr. Rosen was born in Charleston on August 15, 1949, and attended Charleston public schools. He graduated from Rivers High School in 1967, received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Tulane University in 1971, and earned his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1975. During his law school studies, Mr. Rosen was a member of the Society of Wig and Robe and served on the University of South Carolina Law Review from 1972 through 1974. He has since been admitted to practice in the state and federal courts, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.

Richard S. Rosen, the Past President of the South Carolina Bar, is active in trial and appellate practice in the state and federal courts. His practice focuses primarily on business litigation and personal injury cases. He is listed in both categories in The Best Lawyers in America.

He has represented numerous clients in a variety of matters including products liability, securities fraud, shareholder and partnership disputes, medical malpractice, unfair trade practices and personal injury litigation.

He has maintained the highest professional rating possible in the MARTINDALE-HUBBELL LAW DIRECTORY.

Mr. Rosen was appointed by the South Carolina Supreme Court to the South Carolina Judicial Council in 1987. He served on the South Carolina Uniform Securities Task Force. He is a former Chairman of the South Carolina Bar House of Delegates, a past member of the South Carolina Bar's Board of Governors, the South Carolina Bar's House of Delegates and the South Carolina Bar's Nominating Committee. He was elected South Carolina Bar Secretary in 1999, Treasurer in 2000, president-elect in 2001, and President in 2002.

He has served on the Executive Committee of the Charleston County Bar Association and is a past President of Charleston Lawyer's Club. He has participated in numerous Continuing Legal Education programs sponsored by the South Carolina Bar, the Charleston County Bar and the South Carolina Trial Lawyers Association, both as a speaker and event coordinator.

He is the author of the topic, Negligence, published in SOUTH CAROLINA JURISPRUDENCE. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Trident United Way and has served as a member of the Charleston Jewish Federation Board and Chairman of the Community Relations Committee.
