Broadmoor v. Schlopy. Horowitz and Berkeley Square. 306 S.C. 482, 413 S.E.2d9(1991)

Richard Rosen was lead counsel for Plaintiff in a slander of title and abuse of process action brought in Beaufort County against Defendant attorneys, real estate developers and development company. Defendants had previously sued Plaintiff alleging that they had a contract to purchase an apartment complex owned by Plaintiffs. Because Defendants filed a lis pendens and a lawsuit, Plaintiff Broadmoor was unable to consummate a sale to a third party on favorable terms. The case resulted in a jury verdict in favor of Plaintiff on the abuse of process cause of action which was subsequently affirmed by the South Carolina Supreme Court.
